Our story, our mission, and the passionate people committed to building a better Bangladesh.
Dola Foundation was born in 2015 from a simple yet powerful belief: that every person, regardless of where they are born, deserves access to education, healthcare, and opportunity. What began as a small local initiative in Dhaka has grown into a nationally recognized non-governmental organization operating across eight districts of Bangladesh.
Our founder, Md. Abdul Karim, witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of poverty and lack of access to basic services in rural communities. Determined to create lasting change, he mobilized a group of like-minded individuals — teachers, doctors, social workers, and community leaders — to establish a foundation built on the pillars of compassion, integrity, and sustainable action.
Over the past nine years, Dola Foundation has impacted over 5,000 lives through targeted programs in education, healthcare, disaster relief, environmental conservation, youth development, and orphan care. Each year, we grow stronger, reach further, and deepen our impact in the communities we serve.
We are not just an organization — we are a movement powered by the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they act together with purpose.
Dhaka, Bangladesh
The guiding principles that shape every program we design and every community we serve.
To empower underprivileged communities across Bangladesh by providing equitable access to quality education, essential healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and humanitarian aid — fostering self-sufficiency, dignity, and hope for every individual we serve.
We accomplish this through community-led programs, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability in all our operations.
A Bangladesh where every child has the opportunity to learn, every family has access to quality healthcare, and every community is resilient, self-reliant, and thriving in harmony with the natural environment.
We envision a society where poverty is not a barrier to potential, and where human dignity is protected, celebrated, and sustained for generations to come.
Six principles that define how we work, how we treat people, and how we hold ourselves accountable.
We operate with full transparency and hold ourselves to the highest standards of honesty in everything we do.
Every decision we make is guided by genuine care for the well-being of the people and communities we serve.
We believe in equal access to opportunities and services for all, regardless of gender, religion, or social class.
Our programs are designed for lasting impact, building community capacity so change endures well beyond our direct involvement.
We listen first, then act. Communities shape our programs because they know their own needs best.
We continuously seek creative, evidence-based approaches to maximize our impact and reach more people effectively.
"I have seen children walk hours to reach a school with no roof, mothers die from preventable diseases because a clinic was too far away, and families swept away by floods with no safety net to fall back on. I could not accept that this was simply the way things had to be.
Dola Foundation exists because we believe that compassion, when organized and directed with purpose, can move mountains. Every scholarship we give, every medical camp we run, every bag of relief supplies we distribute — it is a declaration that these lives matter, and that we refuse to look away.
To every donor, volunteer, and partner who stands with us: you are the heart of this foundation. Together, we are not just helping people survive — we are helping them dream." — Md. Abdul Karim, Founder & Executive Director, Dola Foundation
