Six focused areas of intervention designed to create comprehensive, lasting change in Bangladesh's most vulnerable communities.
Our programs are carefully designed to address root causes of poverty and inequality, not just their symptoms. Each program is community-led and evidence-based.
Education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Dola Foundation's Education Program provides access to quality learning for underprivileged children across eight districts of Bangladesh, ensuring that financial hardship is never a barrier to a child's future.
Our approach goes beyond simply providing school fees. We work closely with families, schools, and local communities to create holistic learning environments where children receive the academic, social, and emotional support they need to thrive. We partner with government schools and NGO-run learning centers to maximize reach while maintaining quality.
Over 1,200 students received scholarships, 98% reported improved academic performance, and female enrollment in our partner schools increased by 34% over three years.
Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right, yet millions in rural Bangladesh go without basic medical attention due to distance, cost, and lack of awareness. Dola Foundation's Healthcare Program bridges this gap with free, professional medical services delivered directly to underserved communities.
Our team of volunteer doctors, nurses, and health workers conduct regular medical camps, maternal health programs, and disease prevention campaigns throughout the year. We also operate a medicine distribution program ensuring that the most vulnerable families receive essential medications free of charge.
More than 8,500 patients received free treatment at our medical camps. Over 2,000 mothers and children enrolled in our maternal health program, reducing child malnutrition rates in target areas by 22%.
Bangladesh is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, regularly affected by floods, cyclones, waterlogging, and drought. When disaster strikes, vulnerable families lose everything — their homes, livelihoods, and hope. Dola Foundation's Charity and Relief Program is designed to respond quickly, efficiently, and with dignity.
Beyond disaster response, our year-round charity programs address chronic poverty through food security initiatives, winter relief distributions, and support for families in crisis. We work with local authorities and partner organizations to ensure our aid reaches those who need it most, without delay or bureaucratic barriers.
Distributed relief to over 3,000 families in four flood-affected districts. Provided 1,200 Ramadan food packages and assisted 800 families with post-flood livelihood recovery grants.
Bangladesh faces an existential threat from climate change — rising sea levels, increasingly severe cyclones, deforestation, and water pollution. The poorest communities bear the greatest burden of environmental degradation. Dola Foundation's Environment Program works to protect and restore Bangladesh's natural environment while building community resilience to climate impacts.
We believe environmental protection and community development are inseparable. By involving local communities in tree planting, waste management, and climate awareness, we create both ecological and social benefits. Our programs have helped restore green cover in several peri-urban areas and sparked genuine enthusiasm for environmental stewardship among young Bangladeshis.
Planted over 12,000 trees in 2024, organized 24 river clean-up events removing 8+ tons of waste, and reached 5,000 students through climate education workshops.
Bangladesh has one of the youngest populations in South Asia, with over 30% of the population between the ages of 15 and 30. This demographic dividend can only be realized if young people have access to the skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need. Dola Foundation's Youth Development Program is dedicated to unlocking the potential of Bangladesh's next generation.
We run leadership academies, vocational training programs, and mentorship initiatives that equip young people with both hard and soft skills. From sewing and electronics repair to public speaking and financial literacy, our programs are designed to create job-ready, civically engaged, and emotionally resilient youth leaders.
Over 600 youth completed training in 2024. 78% of vocational training graduates secured employment or started their own small businesses within six months of completing the program.
Among the most vulnerable members of any society are children who have lost one or both parents. In Bangladesh, orphaned and abandoned children often face severe deprivation, exploitation, and a complete lack of opportunity. Dola Foundation's Orphan Care Program provides comprehensive support — physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual — to ensure every child in our care can grow up with dignity and hope.
We partner with foster families, community guardians, and government child welfare services to provide the most suitable care options for each child. Our team of social workers, counselors, and education specialists work together to create individual care plans, monitoring every child's progress and adjusting support as needed through their formative years.
Currently supporting 250+ orphaned and vulnerable children. 96% school attendance rate among children in our care, and all children over 16 are enrolled in vocational or career pathways.
